Northwest GreenTech specializes in a variety of alternative energy methods. We have found that using all available options can usually provide you with the best energy production system, a combination of technologies for varying conditions. Utilizing green technologies means a change in thinking, just as much in how we use our power as in how we make our power. We are proud to offer many products and services to help you in your search for energy independence.
Imagine a renewable energy system with NO hassles. Imagine making more power than you use and selling power back to the utility company or getting a credit on your monthly bill. Now you can have both with Northwest GreenTech's Direct Grid Tie Energy System. Modern technology has improved the useability of traditional solar and wind power production. With the use of Grid-Tie invertors and more powerful and efficient solar panels or wind turbines, we can install a cost efficient and hassle free system that can cut your energy bill substantially.
Northwest GreenTech looked for the most reliable and best designed wind turbines to offer our customers. Who did we find? Southwest Wind Power!
Check out our Wind Power page for details on choosing the best wind turbine for your application.
Solar Thermal energy represents the most efficient and least expensive renewable energy solution. A solar thermal water heating system builds off consumer interest in leading greener lives at home and immediately experiencing the cost savings in doing so. Installing a certified solar water heating system now qualifies homeowners to receive a share of federal stimulus money, including a 30% federal tax credit plus utility company cash rebates ranging from $900-$2,000. It’s important for consumers to act quickly to take advantage of these incentives before funds run out. The solar thermal water heater system integrates with your existing water heating system to utilize solar energy without the wasteful transition from solar to electric to heating water. Call now for details.
What do you do when the power goes out? What if you could have power to certain circuits in your home all the time? Well now you can! Northwest GreenTech offers two methods of stand-by power for your home or business. As an authorized Dealer-Installer for KOHLER Power Systems, we can install a stand-by generator powered by Natural Gas or Propane sized to any application. The system is usually installed with an automatic transfer switch to quickly disconnect you from the utility lines and connect you to your generator which also starts automatically. If a generator isn't your style, we can also set you up with a battery back-up invertor with the transfer switch built in. When you are connected to grid power, the invertor keeps your batteries charged full. However when grid power goes away, the invertor quickly picks up the connected loads, much like the UPS on your computer.
So you want to disconnect from the grid completely? No problem! Northwest GreenTech has many years of experience with offgrid installations. As energy prices continue to rise, the public's desire for energy independence grows as well. Whether you have a small cabin in a remote location away from the utility, or a larger home you simply want to keep off the grid, we can design and install a comprehensive system perfect for your needs. We provide after-install training and service too! Northwest GreenTech looks at all available ways to harness energy and works directly with the end user to build an easily maintained and reliable system.
Although we are not yet in production of these units, Solar Air furnaces promise to be a very exciting alternative energy option. A solar air furnace heats interior air in a collector mounted to the outside of the home or other structure such as a workshop. Working on the same principles as solar thermal water heat, the collector gathers heat, then transfers that heat into the living space. Solar furnaces can be built to work through convection (no fans or moving parts) or be installed with a small solar panel to drive a fan. Northwest GreenTech is working hard to bring Solar Air Furnaces to our line of energy saving options.
Northwest GreenTech has worked out great pricing directly with battery manufacturers to bring you deep cycle and other styles of batteries at the best deal around. We recommend the traditional L16-HC battery for the best results, and we can provide vented enclosures for safe storage in your power room.
Northwest GreenTech partners with other specialty contractors in the field to utilize the talents and experience of other skilled technicians. Our parent company, Stillwater Electric Inc., is an industry leader in electrical construction from large mill production facilities to restaurants and businesses to all sizes of residential structures. We also utilize local contractors for various needs such as concrete foundations or plumbing required for our solar water heating equipment.
What do our customers have to say?
"In 2008, my husband Bob and I hired Tim Grubham and Stillwater Electric to wire our new home in North Idaho. I wanted to build a home that was completely independent of the power lines and Tim knew exactly what I needed for our type of system. We are mostly powered by solar, with a Kohler generator as a back-up. Tim delivered on his promise of a trouble-free system, and continues to provide a resource for our off-grid lifestyle."
